Comparison
Local Cougars vs Toyboy Warehouse
Two cougar sites with British roots, compared on messaging, age rules and checks.
- Free to join
- 18+ only
Toyboy Warehouse is the long-standing British specialist: a UK company that says it was established in 2006, built to help British cougars and toyboys meet. Local Cougars has introduced older women to younger men since 2013 and has members in the UK, South Africa, the USA and Australia. Both understand the attraction. The differences are in how you get talking, the age rules and the checks.

Getting a conversation going
On Toyboy Warehouse you can join, search and send winks and cards free, but sending messages needs a paid subscription. On Local Cougars, a free account includes a number of messages every day, for men and women alike, and anyone can reply to a VIP or VIP Plus member at any time. That makes it easier to find out whether you click before you decide to pay. Our pricing page shows every plan.
Age rules
Toyboy Warehouse asks women to be at least 24 and men at least 18. Local Cougars is open to every adult aged 18 and over, and you set the age range you want to see. In practice our UK women are mostly 35 to 44 and our men mostly under 35, so the age gap takes care of itself.
Checks and moderation
Toyboy Warehouse approves every profile, photo and comment by hand, which is a genuine strength. Local Cougars screens every upload with software and with people, and adds something you can see: anyone can take a free ID check, or skip the documents and do a quick live video chat with a moderator, and earn a verified badge. The site also warns you if someone pushes to move the chat to WhatsApp, a common scam tactic. More on our safety page.
More than one-to-one
Both sites let you search by age and location. Local Cougars adds daily match suggestions, a members' feed for photos and posts, polls, and for VIP members, chat rooms and private group chats. Some members like getting to know a few people in a group before meeting one. See our features for the full tour.
Which suits you?
If you want a long-established British specialist with hand-approved profiles and native apps, Toyboy Warehouse is a solid choice. If you want to message free from day one, a minimum age of 18 for everyone and a verified badge on your profile, Local Cougars is the easier place to start.
